Less to do.
More room to breathe.
Start with four breaths.
Your first session is a gentle 40-second introduction. Steady, Sigh, Extended exhale, Box and 4-7-8 are all included.
Let your eyes close.
Lids Down turns the screen black and keeps it awake. Follow the haptics or tones. Hold anywhere for two seconds to pause.
Your count only goes up.
Keep the minutes and days you practised. Work through 28 Fives at your pace, or make room for Three a Day. No deadlines to catch up with.
One stroke.
Many ways to make it yours.

Every technique.
Always included.
Pick 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 minutes. Try three Steady tempos, build your own shape, or use a familiar pattern. Sound, touch and the drawn stroke let you choose how to follow along.
What happens
when the screen goes dark.
| Where | What you get | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone, app open | Lids Down. The screen stays on but black and ignores touches. The vibration builds as you breathe in and fades as you breathe out. Tones optional. | iPhone haptics run only while the app is in front. |
| iPhone, locked or in a pocket | With tones on, tones guide you: a soft rising and falling sound. The Lock Screen shows the time left. With tones off, the session pauses when the phone locks. | iPhone doesn't let an app play its own haptics while the phone is locked. |
| Android, app open | Lids Down: a smooth build where the phone supports it, gentle ticks where it does not. | Vibration-motor control varies by phone. |
| Android, screen off | With tones on, vibration and tones, with Stop in the notification. With tones off, the session pauses when the screen turns off. | Hushcount keeps a screen-off session running only while tones play. |
| iPad | Tones and the drawn shape. No vibration. | iPad has no haptics. |
Keep your practice.
Keep your choice.

Before your first breath.
Does Hushcount work without an internet connection?
Yes. Breathing sessions, saved shapes, practice, reminders and export work offline. Buying Hushcount Repertoire and restoring a purchase need your app store.
Can I use my own music?
Tones mix with other audio. They do not ask to pause or lower your music. Tones play even when your iPhone is on silent, so you can keep a session going with the screen locked.
What if I cannot feel the vibration?
The feel check helps you choose a strength or turn on tones. Phones without amplitude control use pulses. iPad uses tones and the shape. Android Battery Saver can suppress vibration.
What happens when I change phones?
Export first. Practice and settings are stored locally and excluded from cloud backup. Use your free .hushcount export to bring them to another phone. Your purchase is restored separately through the store where you bought it.
Is this medical treatment?
No. Hushcount is a breathing pacer for relaxation. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a medical condition. Breathe gently, never force it, and consult a healthcare professional for medical advice. Read the safety page.
And in French?
Hushcount includes French throughout. Three a Day offers three five-minute Steady sessions, with six breaths a minute. À propos de la respiration guidée et de la cohérence cardiaque.
